Asian markets mostly higher despite trade concerns

Asian stocks traded mostly higher on Monday despite concerns of an escalating trade war between the United States and China. Last week, US President Donald Trump said that Washington is still not ready to make a trade deal with Beijing and warned next month's negotiations could be called off.

The Shanghai Composite rose 0.67% at 7:37 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite gained 0.57% at 7:28 am CET.

South Korea's Kospi increased by 0.36% at 7:20 am CET. Meanwhile, Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 0.04% and Australian S&P/ASX 200 dipped 0.22% at 7:45 am CET.

The dollar declined 0.27% against the yen to sell for 105.4215 at 7:46. Markets in Japan were closed for the Mountain Day holiday.
