Equities in the United States dipped further on Wednesday before the bell as investors feared of an approaching recession after the yield curve on two-year to ten-year Treasuries inverted briefly earlier in the day. The yield on the 30-year Treasury bond hit its record low.

Data from Germany, the Eurozone and China showed negative trends in the economy and industrial production specifically.

At 8:06 am ETm the Dow Jones Industrial Average index tanked 300 points or 1.15%. The S&P 500 was down by 1.07% as the Nasdaq 100 fell 1.25%.

The euro was 0.19% in the green against the dollar at 8:07 am ET, changing hands for $1.11810.
