Asia trades mostly higher ahead of BoJ interest rate decision

Asian markets traded mostly higher on Thursday ahead of the Bank of Japan interest rate decision and monetary policy statement. Meanwhile in the United States, policymakers decided to cut rates for the second time this year.

The Nikkei 225 gained 0.88% while the South Korean Kospi Composite advanced 0.49% at 4:07 am CET.

In China, the Shanghai Composite moved up 0.07% at 4:27 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite climbed 0.42% at 4:29 am CET. At the same time, Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 0.57%.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 jumped 0.65% at 4:30 am CET. The dollar dropped 0.27% against the yen at 4:31 am CET, buying 108.154.
