Perry: Impeachment inquiry can't find crime

The impeachment inquiry into United States President Donald Trump's Ukraine phone call will find no crime, outgoing Energy Secretary Rick Perry told Fox News on Friday.

Perry, whose resignation was announced on Thursday, said his decision to leave the Trump administration has "nothing to do" with the Ukraine phone call as press speculated Perry decided to resign after admitting he had been in contact with Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani over alleged corruption by former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden in Ukraine.

The secretary stressed Bidens' names were never a part of the conversation with Ukrainian officials. However, he did confirm he was the one that asked Trump to call his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky this summer. A whistleblower's complaint about the call has been the reason behind the Trump impeachment inquiry.
