Former United States Vice President and 2020 presidential hopeful Joe Biden's allies are concerned that Michael Bloomberg's potential entrance in the Democratic primaries could hurt his chances of clinching the party's nomination, CNBC reported on Friday.

According to the report, Biden's allies said they believe Bloomberg's potential candidacy would help Elizabeth Warren secure the Democratic nomination. "I think it [Bloomberg's candidacy] takes away from [Warren’s] biggest competitor, and that’s Joe Biden. I’m not saying Bloomberg is doing it intentionally, but that what I think the result would be," one Biden ally stated.

Earlier, Bloomberg's aides said the billionaire is considering launching a presidential bid as he is concerned current candidates would not be able to defeat President Donald Trump. Meanwhile, Trump stated that he doesn't think Bloomberg can win the Democratic nomination but that he could diminish Biden's chances of doing so.
