UBS CEO Sergio Ermotti is planning on leaving his position in 2021, Swiss media outlet Finews reported on Monday, citing a source familiar with the matter. Ermotti is allegedly looking to stay at UBS until he reaches 10 years at the bank's top post and he is also eyeing his departure to coincide with the company's shareholder meeting in the spring of 2021.

Reports suggest that there are three main candidates to replace him, COO Sabine Keller-Busse and co-presidents of Global Wealth Management Tom Naratil and Iqbal Khan.

In the third quarter of this year, UBS posted a decrease in operating income year-on-year, blaming geopolitical tensions.
