SAP's EPS rises to €0.68 in Q1

Software company SAP SE reported on Tuesday its IFRS revenue was €6.52 billion in the first quarter of 2020, increasing 7% compared to the same time the year before, with the cloud and software revenue for the period adding also 7% to reach €5.39 billion, compared to last year's €5.04 billion.

The company's basic earnings per share (EPS) stood at €0.68, rising compared to 2019's €–0.10, while the operating profit in the same period reached €1.21 billion.

The company's CEO Christian Klein said: "As the unprecedented global challenges presented by COVID-19 emerged, we benefited from the inherent resilience of our business model and sustainable relevance of our portfolio. Our emphasis on increasing our base of more predictable revenue and the geographic and sector diversity of our business has strongly positioned us to weather the period ahead and emerge stronger in the new normal that will follow."
