Europe down premarket as EU, UK talks continue

European stocks ticked lower in the premarket on Tuesday following the start of a new round of post-Brexit talks between the European Union and the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, earnings season continued as Allianz SE and ThyssenKrupp AG published their financial results for the first quarter of 2020.

The DAX was down 0.13% at 7:59 am CET, while the FTSE 100 concurrently slipped 0.12%. The CAC 40 traded 0.13% lower a minute later.

Both the euro and the pound stood flat against the dollar at 7:59 am CET to sell for $1.08104 and $1.23293, respectively.
