The German government said on Wednesday it agreed on a rescue package for the largest German airline Deutsche Lufthansa AG.

According to Der Spiegel, the government official will be signing the deal with airline managers soon. Even though there is no official confirmation, the airline previously admitted it is seeking €9 billion aid package from the state.

Also, it is reported that earlier today, German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated that "on Lufthansa, the government is in intensive talks with the company and the European Commission. A decision is expected shortly. But I cannot report on details of talks that are ongoing."
