Lufthansa surges 5.5% as €9B state aid deal nears

Shares of Deutsche Lufthansa AG soared over 5.5% on Thursday following a report the company has reached an agreement to receive relief funds from the German government.

Lufthansa previously revealed it needs around €9 billion to successfully overcome the coronavirus-related air travel halt. In return, Germany is supposed to acquire a 20% stake in the airline if the deal proceeds as planned.

Lufthansa stocks jumped 5.56% to sell for €8.36 at 1:45 pm CET.
