Lufthansa AG reached a deal with the German government on support package to curb the coronavirus impact on the largest Europan commercial airline, DPA reported on Monday.

Nevertheless, in order to be realized, the agreement worth billions needs to be approved by the steering committee of the German Economic Stabilisation Fund, Lufthansa's supervisory bodies, and the European Commission.

On May 7, the company unveiled it engaged in negotiation with the government on a potential stabilization package of €9 billion to halt the impact of coronavirus.
