Europe kicks off higher as coronavirus woes diminish

European stock markets opened in the green territory on Wednesday with concerns regarding the coronavirus lessening, as the death toll decreases in the United Kingdom and Spain reports no fatalities from COVID-19 for the second day in a row. Meanwhile, French pharmaceutical company Sanofi S.A. announced its plans to complete human trials for its vaccine against coronavirus until the end of 2020.

The DAX went up by 1.11% at the opening bell with MTU Aero Engines rising 4.01%. The FTSE 100 jumped 0.35% and the CAC 40 advanced 1.08% with Renault growing 5.97%.

The euro increased by 0.35% compared to the dollar, with the exchange rate of 1.12098 at 8:58 am CET.
