Europe opens higher on encouraging data

Stock markets in Europe opened in the green on Tuesday after encouraging data from the United Kingdom. The unemployment rate in the UK beat the estimates despite the lockdown, remaining unchanged at 3.9%. Still, data on the European economic sentiment is expected later in the day.

The DAX went up by 2.25% at 9:01 am CET. HeidelbergCement AG was the best performer rising by 6.70%. The CAC 40 rose 2.23% at 9:03 am CET with Saint Gobain leading the way with the 4.42% increase. The FTSE 100 grew by 2.07% with Legal & General Group PLC increasing 4.19%.

The euro rose 0.17% compared to the dollar, with the exchange rate of $1.13438 at 9:03 am CET. The pound was up by 0.23% selling for 1.26330.
