Russian presidential envoy for Zamir Kabulov stated on Thursday the United States has no proof of the alleged deal between Russia and the Taliban that lead to the mortal attack on American troops in Afghanistan, describing the indications as "groundless accusations."

Earlier this week, The Washington Post reported the Afghan militants' assault on the US soldiers was ordered and paid for by Moscow, while The New York Times published Washington officials' claims the intelligence services have intercepted electronic data that prove the story.

US President Donald Trump denied being briefed about the matter and went on to label it a "hoax by Democrats and by the media."
