Dow up 100 pts premarket despite US-China tensions

The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped over 100 points in the premarket on Monday in spite of the prevailing tensions between the United States and China. The Asian country recently announced it will impose sanctions on US lawmakers who brought sanctions on Xinjiang officials. Meanwhile, US State Secretary Mike Pompeo criticized China's regime claiming that "it fears its people's free-thinking."

Traders also kept in mind the most recent developments in the treatment and vaccine for COVID-19 as optimistic data came from both the US, Russia, and India.

The Dow Jones soared 0.49% or 116 points at 4:30 am ET, as the Nasdaq 100 went up by 0.52% at the same time. Concurrently, the S&P 500 rose 0.36%. The euro increased by 0.08% against the dollar, selling for $1.13087 at 4:33 am ET.
