Europe opens higher after UK's data

Major European stock markets started Wednesday's session in the green with the focus on the ongoing coronavirus crisis, as well as the latest batch of economic data. According to the United Kingdom's Office for National Statistics, producer prices in the country dropped 0.8% in June, while inflation increased 0.6% during the same period.

The FTSE 100 gained 0.12% at the opening bell. Phoenix Group Holdings plc was up 2.41%. The DAX climbed 0.93%, with HeidelbergCement AG advancing 3.33%. The CAC 40 grew 0.79%, with ArcelorMittal S.A. rising 2.65%.

The euro was flat against the dollar at 8:59 am CET, to sell for $1.14047, while the pound jumped 0.29% to $1.25903 at the same time.
