Facebook ads boycott will last - Publicis CEO

Thursday, 23. July 2020 08:42

The Facebook ads boycott will likely last, Publicis Groupe CEO Arthur Sadoun (pictured) predicted on Thursday in an interview. Sadoun noted that the third-largest global marketing agency's clients remain determined to continue with keeping their ads off Facebook.

Sadoun noted that Publicis like-for-like sales fell 12% in the second quarter as a result of the boycott.

Despite Facebook's efforts to amend its ads policy, a number of the world's largest firms such as Verizon, Unilever, Target, Microsoft, Ford and others decided to boycott Facebook ads over hate speech and the way the social media giant handles political ads.
