Europe closes in green after positive data reports

Equities on major European stock markets finished Monday's session higher as the new big week for corporate earnings started. Investors are also monitoring manufacturing data in the eurozone. Manufacturing activity in the United Kingdom, therefore, continued to expand in July as well as the Eurozone and especially German manufacturing PMI.

The DAX in Frankfurt climbed 2.85% at the closing bell. Volkswagen went up by 5.41%. The CAC 40 added 2.12% with Vivendi growing by 6.03% while the FTSE 100 in London ended the session 2.36% higher. Lloyds Banking Group Plc was the best performer rising by 5.93%.

The euro fell 0.26% against the greenback to trade at $1.17452 at 5:27 pm CET while the pound went down by 0.29$ selling for $.13046.
