Europe closes mostly lower despite encouraging data

Major Europan stock markets closed mostly lower on Tuesday after Eurostat reported that the producer prices in both, the European Union and the Eurozone, increased only by 0.7% in June. Meanwhile, European Central Bank's (ECB) Chief Economist Philip Lane stressed that ECB remains committed to recovery stimulus support.

The DAX fell by 0.46% at the close as Bayer AG plunged by 2.41%. The FTSE 100 went down by 0.09% with Diageo Plc slipping 5.36%. The CAC 40 gained 0.26%. Renault was the best performer rising by 6.74%.

The euro grew 0.06% to the dollar to sell for $1.17688 at 5:29 pm CET. At the same time, the pound sterling went down by 0.12% to the greenback, with the exchange rate of 1.30592.
