Apple's marketing chief retires

Apple's marketing chief Phil Schiller will step down from his role, the company announced on Tuesday.

Schiller, who has been a part of Apple since 1987, will remain in the company as an "Apple Fellow," and will be in charge of the Apple store and Apple events.

"Phil has helped make Apple the company it is today and his contributions are broad, vast, and run deep. In this new role he will continue to provide the incredible thought partnership, and guidance that have defined his decades at Apple," the company's CEO Tim Cook stated.
