US closes higher as stimulus bill talks continue

Major stock markets in the United States closed in the green on Tuesday after Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said that Democratic and Republican representatives in the US Congress are "moving in the right direction" to reaching a deal on the country's fourth coronavirus stimulus package. Also, US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin stated he will back executive order if Democrats don't yield.

The Dow Jones increased 0.62% or 165 points at the closing bell with Dow Inc. rising by 3.07%. The Nasdaq 100 rose by 0.38% as Advanced Micro Devices jumped by 9.49%. The S&P 500 went up by 0.36% at the same time. The Mosaic Co. was the best performer inclining by 13.60%.

The euro rose 0.34% against the dollar, selling at $1.18026 at 3:56 pm ET.
