Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang told Financial Times in an interview released on Friday that the company will make "legally binding" promises to employees of Arm Holdings after trade union Unite urged the United Kingdom government to block the sale over concerns about employees futures.

"We will of course enter legally binding documents with everybody," Huang insisted.

Earlier, US-based Nvidia announced it will buy Arm from SoftBank for $40 billion and vowed to keep its headquarters in Cambridge and create more jobs in the UK. Meanwhile, the UK government stated it is investigating the proposed acquisition and noted it has "powers to intervene in mergers where they raise concerns about national security, financial stability, media plurality and maintaining in the UK the capability to combat and to mitigate the effects of public health emergencies."
