Trump slams Minnesota AG for limited rally attendance

Saturday, 31. October 2020 00:10

United States President Donald Trump slammed Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and the state's Attorney General Keith Ellison for limiting the number of people who were allowed to attend his campaign event in the state.

Trump claimed 25,000 people wanted to attend the rally in Rochester and that many waited at the gates but were "barred from entry" by "radical left Democrats." He asserted that Democrats hoped he would cancel the event but noted he only changed the venue.

Earlier, Ellison asked the Trump campaign to present a "COVID preparedness plan" but said his office got no response. He added he encourages Minnesotans to "express their political views safely during the election season" and insisted it is his responsibility to stop the virus from spreading.
