Major European markets closed mostly higher on Friday after positive news from the euro area, where the trade surplus reached €24.8 billion in September, after a 36% increase compared to the same month one year ago, and the seasonally adjusted gross domestic product went up by 12.6%. The DAX grew by 0.18% at the closing bell, as Heidelbergcement advanced 2.70%. The CAC 40 rose by 0.33% at the end of the session, with Renault recording the highest gains at 5.74%. The FTSE 100 was down 0.36%, as Halma PLC underperformed 3.97%. The euro moved 0.16% in the green buying $1.18258 at 5:25 pm CET, while the pound gained 0.36 % at the same time, going for $1.31690. |
