British Secretary of State for International Trade Liz Truss (pictured) said on Friday that the United Kingdom has been "very clear that we won't lower our standards for any trade deal, that is a UK red line." She also stressed the government will ensure that the National Health Service (NHS) is protected.

Truss told Sky News that agriculture is a "strong interest" for both sides in trade deal negotiations. She pointed to last year's lift of the ban on beef exports from the UK and expressed hope that British lamb could also be allowed back in the US.
