Europe closes mixed amid earnings season

Markets in Europe closed mixed on Thursday, with DAX finishing in the green, while FTSE 100 was in the red and CAC 40 finished around flat line, as investors focused on corporate earnings reports. Geberit stocks soared after the company reported yearly sales data. Technology sectors were among the best performers.

London's FTSE 100 finished 0.32% in the red.

German DAX was 0.74% higher at the end of the trading session, with Infineon Technologies stocks rising 5.55%.

France's CAC 40 inched up 0.02% at the closing bell. The French-Italian electronics manufacturer STMicroelectronics was the best performer, finishing the session with a 3.79% increase.

The euro rose 0.24% against the US dollar to sell for 1.2242 at 5:49 pm CET. The European currency fell against the British pound to go for 0.8805 at 5:50 pm CET.
