Nestle Asia chief to leave company by year's end

Nestle SA said on Thursday its Chief Executive Officer for Asia, Oceania, and Sub-Saharan Africa (Zone AOA) wan Ling Martello is leavig the company at the end of the year. Martello joined Nestle in 2011 as chief financial officer and in 2015 she was appointed CEO for for Zone AOA, region that faced "serious headwinds" at the time, the company said on its website. Thanks to her leadership, the region was made profitable and the fastest growing business within the Nestle Group, the company pointed out.

Chris Johnson, currently chief of human resources and business services at Nestle, will replace Martello. "I would like to thank Wan Ling wholeheartedly for all her great achievements. Her drive and her enthusiasm for entrepreneurship are a great motivation for all of us," Nestle chief Mark Schneider stated.

Nestle reported its quarterly financial results earlier today, announcing a 2% growth in total sales. The company's shares traded 0.83% in the green at 9:22 am CET.
