Asia Pacific stocks higher on positive trade comments

Encouraged by the positive comments made by United States President Donald Trump on the trade negotiations with Beijing, equities in China traded higher on Wednesday. Additionally, local media reported on China's plans for the merger of two government investment funds for Africa and Latin America. The Shanghai Composite was up 0.20% at 8:00 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite rose 0.39% at 8:06 am CET. Hong Kong's Hang Seng advanced 0.94% at 08:05 am CET.

Bank of Japan's Governor Haruhiko Kuroda held another session in front of the country's Parliament in which he talked about the bank's strategy and the various factors which determine currency rates. The dollar was 0.28% higher against the yen at 8:05 am CET, going for 110.9160. Tokyo Stock Exchange's market index the Nikkei 225 gained 0.70% concurrently.

South Korean Kospi Composite increased by 1.09% at 7:32 am CET.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 was almost flat, growing just 0.07% at 8:05 am CET.
