Wall Street closes mostly higher after Fed minutes

Markets in the United States finished the session mostly in the green on Wednesday following the release of the minutes of the last meeting of the Federal Reserve. The Fed minutes highlighted "the possibilities of a sharper-than-expected slowdown in global economic growth, particularly in China and Europe, a rapid waning of fiscal policy stimulus, or a further tightening of financial market conditions." The Federal Open Market Committee decided late last month to take a "patient approach" due to "various risks and uncertainties in the outlook."

In trade, President Donald Trump said that if no trade deal is reached with the European Union he will impose tariffs on vehicles from the bloc.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.24% led higher by Caterpillar jumping 3.32%. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 advanced 0.18% as Garmin rallied over 17% following the release of the company's better-than-expected earnings. The Nasdaq 100 fell 0.06% below the flatline.
