Swiss-Swedish electronic company ABB has appointed Maryrose Sylvester as its managing director for the United States, it announced in a press release on Wednesday.

Sylvester, who will also be the company's Head of Electrification for that country, will succeed current managing director Greg Scheu following his retirement on October 31. She was previously with the General Electric Company, where she held various executive positions. Sylvester is also a board member of Harley-Davidson and a member of the board of governors of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association.

"Maryrose Sylvester brings extensive experience of managing and transforming industrial businesses and of applying digital technologies in industry," said ABB Chairman and CEO Peter Voser. "Her proven track record at GE makes her an ideal candidate to run our Electrification business in the US and to be our CMD for the US," he added.
