Intel received a license from the United States government to continue supplying Huawei with certain products despite Washington's ban on American companies doing business with the Chinese tech giant, the China Securities Journal reported and an Intel spokesperson confirmed.

According to the report, Intel told a supply chain company it sought approval to sell equipment to Huawei for its Huawei notebook project.

Earlier, the US Commerce Department tightened restrictions on companies supplying Huawei, blocking companies from selling products that use American technology, including semiconductors, to the Chinese firm unless they are granted a special license.
