US markets close slightly lower on Iran tensions

Stocks on Wall Street finished the Friday's trading session in the red amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran. Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi stated no military action should be taken against the Middle Eastern country without the approval of the Congress, while President Donald Trump expressed willingness to talk to Tehran "without preconditions."

Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.13% at the end of the session as The Walt Disney Company lost 1.24%. The Nasdaq 100 decreased 0.12%, with Align Technology sliding 4.10%. The S&P 500 fell 0.12% as Altria Group Inc. sunk 4.50%.

The euro was trading 0.68% higher against the dollar to change hands for $1.13688 at 4:02 pm ET. The pound rose 0.30% to $1.27420 a minute later.
