Japan's trade deficit widens to ¥249.6 billion in July

Japan's trade deficit rose to ¥249.6 billion in July compared to the same month of the previous year, according to a provisional report by the Ministry of Finance on Monday. Expectations for the trade balance figure predicted ¥200 billion yen.

Exports fell by 1.6% or ¥6,600 billion, while Japan's imports were down by 1.2% or ¥6,900 billion compared to the same period a year ago.
