Major US stock indices finished the trading day in the green on Wednesday following the release of the Federal Open Market Committee's (FOMC) minutes. The officials expressed their concern over the ongoing trade spat between the US and China, noting that the risks associated with trade uncertainty would remain "a persistent headwind for the outlook." Also, they pointed to tariffs and generally slower economic conditions as two factors that may "have significant negative effects on the U.S. economy."

The Dow Jones closed 0.93% higher with Nike as the best performer adding 2.82%.

The Nasdaq 100 ended the session adding 0.90% propped by Advanced Micro Devices' shares rising 3.19%.

The S&P 500 was up 0.82% at the end of the session with Target and Lowe's soaring 20.58% and 10.35%, respectively, following the companies' better-than-expected quarterly results.

The euro dropped 0.10% against the US dollar, going for 1.10846 at 4:00 pm ET.
