Disney's Iger resigns from Apple board

Disney's Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger stepped down from Apple’s board of directors, the tech giant said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commissions on Friday.

Iger's resignation comes as Disney is getting ready to launch its streaming service in November. Apple’s Apple TV+ service will also launch in November, making the two companies competitors in streaming services. The feature will be launched in over 100 countries and will cost $4.99 per month for the whole family, Apple said earlier this week.

The Disney CEO joined Apple’s board in 2011.
