US stock markets close at new record highs

Stocks on Wall Street finished Monday's trading session at new record highs on hopes that a resolution of the United States-China trade conflict might be close. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump blamed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) not being ratified. Tesla Inc.'s CEO Elon Musk announced the company received more than 200,00 orders for its electric pickup truck. The Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. reported its revenue for the Q4 of 2019 fell 8% to $7.22 billion.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.68%, as UnitedHealth Group Inc. advanced 2.11%. The Nasdaq 100 jumped 1.21%, with Incyte Corp. jumping 5.94%. The S&P 500 increased 0.75%. Capri Holdings Ltd. was the best performer, climbing 4.79%.

The euro was down 0.10% against the dollar to change hands for 1.10116 at 3:59 pm. At the same time, the pound rose 0.51% to $1.2902.
