Friday, 29. November 2019 19:00

Trading on Wall Street finished in the red on Friday in the shortened session following the Thanksgiving break.

Traders continue to monitor the trade dispute between China and the United States, which might escalate even further now that US President Donald Trump signed into law a bill backing the Hong Kong protesters, in defiance of Beijing.

The Dow Jones fell 112 points at the close led lower by Dow Inc. and the Home Depot. The S&P 500 lost 0.40% as apache Corp led the losses, dropping nearly 4%. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq 100 dipped 0.49%; The Dollar Tree was among the weakest performers.

The euro traded 0.12% higher against the dollar at 1:15 pm ET, buying 1.10224.
