Asian stocks mixed on trade

Major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific traded in the mixed on Monday with investors focusing on the latest trade developments. The World Bank announced it will lower its lending to China after United States President Donald Trump called on the financial institution to stop lending money to Beijing.

The Japanese Nikkei 225 rose 0.32% at 5:01 am CET. The US dollar was flat against the yen, changing hands for ¥108.5780 at 5:01 am CET.

The Hong Kong's Hang Seng dropped 0.08% at 4:59 am CET, while the Shanghai Composite and Shenzhen Composite indices traded both unchanged at 4:56 am CET.

Over in South Korea, the Kospi Composite rose 0.33% at 4:43 am CET. Meanwhile, the Australian S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.34% at 5:03 am CET.
