Chinese stocks down as exports decline

Chinese stocks were lower on Monday while other major indexes in the Asia-Pacific region traded higher after data published over the weekend showed that Beijing's exports declined 1.1% in November while China's trade surplus with the United States declined from $42.9 billion in October to $38.7 billion last month.

The Shanghai Composite declined 0.072% at 7:02 am CET. The Shenzhen Composite fell 0.21% and the Hang Seng lost 0.09%, both at 7:03 am CET.

Japan's Nikkei 225 finished the first trading day of the week with gains of 0.33% while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 was up by 0.34%. Kospi increased 0.42% at 7:07 am CET.

The dollar was flat against the yen, trading 0.01% higher at 108.5850 at 7:08 am CET.
