Fitness franchise to integrate Apple Watch

Thursday, 12. December 2019 15:45

Fitness franchise Orangetheory Fitness said on Thursday it plans to present its new device called "OTbeat Link" designed in order to connect users' Apple Watch to their in-studio heart rate monitoring system. Apple Watch users will, therefore, be able to track their workouts without needing an additional heart rate monitor like it was the case before.'

All of the Apple Watch users' workout data will be seen on the screen and connected with the new app called OTassist that makes it easier for the Orangetheory Fitness employees to track down the gym members' performance and schedule classes. Coaches will also have a new iPhone app called OTcoach that enables them to control their classes or view coaching materials that were usually kept in a book.

This is the second Apple's integration with the fitness brand. Last week Peloton also confirmed its apps to be connected with Apple Watch in order to monitor workouts.
