California's Attorney General Xavier Becerra opened a probe into Alphabet Inc's Google for potential antitrust violations, Politico reported citing three people familiar with the matter.

The move has led to the California-based company being investigated by all US federal states except for Alabama, as the remaining 48 have already issued a probe back in September, together with the unincorporated US territory of Puerto Rico as well as Washington, DC.

According to the media outlet, California's investigation is expected to be conducted separately from the one launched by the other US territories.
