Google announces $10 billion investment in India

Google will invest $10 billion in India, Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced on Monday. The funds will be invested over the next five to seven years and will be designated as the Google for India Digitalization Fund,

The funds will have the aim to enable Indians to get information in their mother tongues, create new products and services, encourage businesses to adopt digital transformation and work on the development of technology and artificial intelligence for health, agriculture and education.

"We look forward to working alongside Prime Minister Modi and the Indian government, as well as Indian businesses of all sizes to realize our shared vision for a Digital India," Pichai wrote.
