American Airlines Group Inc. announced on Thursday the company will suspend flights to 15 cities across the United States in October due to low booking demand and the expiration of relief granted by the CARES Act.

The change in the airline's flight schedule will be effective starting October 7, and is supposed to last until November 3. "The airline will continue to re-assess plans for these and other markets as an extension of the Payroll Support Program remains under deliberation," the statement concluded. A full list of suspensions is included in the airline's official announcement.

Following the announcement, American's stocks lost 1.66% to sell for $12.47 per share at 10:12 am ET.
