In a huge crackdown, India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested nine al Qaeda militants on Saturday during multiple raids carried out in Kerela and West Bengal.

Terrorists were, according to the statement, planning "to undertake terrorist attacks at vital installations in India with an aim to kill innocent people and strike terror in their minds."

NIA added that these people "were motivated to undertake attacks at multiple places" including New Delhi and that "a large number of incriminating materials including digital devices, documents, jihadi literature and weapons" was found.
