Comcast Corp. and Walmart Inc. are currently discussing developing and selling smart TVs, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.

Under the terms of the potential agreement, Walmart would reportedly promote TVs running Comcast software in return for a share of profits made by the telecommunications giant. A third party would likely manufacture the equipment, the WSJ writes.

Comcast Chief Executive Brian Roberts previously said his company wants to develop smart TVs "on a global basis."
