Olympics to go ahead next year with spectators - IOC's Bach

International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach (pictured left) and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga (right) stated on Monday that the Olympic Games in Tokyo will go ahead next summer as planned. The games were supposed to be held this year but were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Kyodo News, Bach also said he is "confident" audiences will be allowed to spectate in sports venues. Suga, who became prime minister in September, expressed his determination to hold the Olympics next year as "proof that humanity has defeated the virus."
