Russia's communications, information technology and mass media watchdog Roskomnadzor announced on Monday it launched "administrative proceedings" against Alphabet Inc.'s Google LLC.

The agency noted that the tech giant failed to comply with Russian laws by not removing "up to 30% of dangerous content" banned in the country.

Among others, Google also failed to take out sites with extremist, obscene and suicidal content from the search results, Roskomnadzor specified.
