Google-supported Manbang raises $1.7B for research

The Chinese Manbang Group, a merged company between Chinese Uber-like truck logistics unicorns Yunmanman and Huochebang said on Tuesday that it managed to raise $1.7 billion in its latest funding round. The company got $1.9 billion two years ago from investors such as SoftBank Group, Alphabet Inc’s venture capital fund CapitalG, Lightspeed China Partners, Tencent as well as Jack Ma’s YF Capital.

According to the official announcement, Manbang’s platform has over 10 million verified drivers and 5 million cargo owners.

The company said that it will use the latest funding for further research.
