Silver jumps over 3%, precious metals all higher

Precious metals traded higher on Wednesday with silver rallying 3% as focus remained on United States fiscal stimulus and the Federal Reserve's final policy meeting of the year.

Lawmakers on Capitol Hill began discussing a new bipartisan coronavirus relief proposal worth $748 billion this week, while the Fed is expected to share its assessment on how the rollout of COVID vaccines changed the economic outlook.

Silver jumped 3.02% to $25.26 per ounce at 6:19 am ET. Gold was up 0.46% to $1,863.06 per ounce at 6:23 am ET, while palladium climbed 1,02% to $2,345.90 per ounce. At the same time, platinum gained 0.97% to $1,050.62 per ounce.
