The CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, confirmed on Monday that his company helped the advanced manufacturing at COPAN Diagnostics to ship COVID-19 test kits to hospitals. Copan Diagnostics is the supplier of bacteriology swabs, viral transport media, VTM, and molecular transport systems.

Cook tweeted: "Proud to support the advanced manufacturing at COPAN Diagnostics, helping them scale up to ship more than 15M COVID-19 test kits to hospitals across the US and employ hundreds of people in new jobs to meet the demand."

COPAN Diagnostics already received $10 million from Apple’s Advanced Manufacturing Fund and Apple contributed to the development of the new machinery for COPAN’s Southern California facilities, increasing test-kit production by close to 4,000 percent since April.
